The American Garden Rose Selections program has named seven rose varieties as its 2027 award winners. These plants were selected for their performance across diverse climate and soil conditions in the United States.
Why it matters
Choosing plants that have been vetted for regional hardiness helps homeowners reduce maintenance needs and avoid the frustration of failed plantings. This program identifies varieties proven to perform well in specific local environments.
Seven varieties earned recognition after a rigorous 2-year evaluation period. Winning plants include Easy Bee-zy Knock Out, Fine Gold, Orange Glow Knock Out, True Confidence, Virginia's Song, Yellow Freedom, and Xenna.

The Home Front
This program aligns with the broader trend of prioritizing native and regionally adapted plant selection to lower landscape maintenance costs. These awards build upon long-standing horticultural standards for evaluating plant performance in private residential gardens.
Homeowners planning their spring landscape should check their specific regional winner list before heading to the nursery. Consider how these high-performing roses fit into your existing garden beds to ensure they get the right amount of sun and space.
